How much does lead generation cost?
The answer to this question will vary depending on the industry you work in. However, the cost that you SHOULD be willing to pay is any amount that results in profit. To determine your ideal cost we suggest calculating the average life time value of a new client/customer and multiply this number by the average close rate of a lead (i.e. for every 10 leads you receive, 2 become a client. This would equal a 20% close rate).
Finally to determine the effectiveness from a return on investment perspective, we lastly want to compare the average life time value of a lead against the costs of our goods sold. As long as your cost per lead allows you to maintain profitability, you’re lead generation strategy is sound.
